Baby Girl Bedding and Decorating the Nursery

View baby girl theme bedding sets

Your baby girl has arrived! It’s time to decorate her nursery, and this means paint, wallpaper, and furniture. Think about the colors of the walls or the type of wallpaper, the theme, and the furniture. A popular option for a crib is a beautiful canopy with drapes. Since you will be spending a lot of time in the nursery the design, theme and bedding you choose is mainly for your benefit. Baby won’t care what her room looks like until she’s older.

Popular themes include princess, ballerina, teddy bears, flowers and kittens. Pastels like pink, mauve, aquamarine and yellow are popular for a girl’s room. Mix similar colors, contrasting with bright, primary color patterns and shapes to excite your baby’s senses and imagination. If you don’t like pink and frilly fabrics, look for exciting geometric shapes, animals, polka dots, sunsets, stars or even sports themes like figure skating, swimming and soccer. These are all great for girls as well!

For baby girl crib bedding, look around or browse online to see what best matches or compliments the walls and curtains. Search for something distinctive, as the crib and bedding will be the focal point of the room.

Bedding sets consist of 3 pieces to 6 pieces and beyond. 3 piece sets include a fitted sheet, bumper and comforter. 6 pieces may also include a diaper stacker, window valance and dust ruffle. All pieces should be machine washable, and the bumpers made of soft but durable foam. The fitted sheet should fit tightly around the mattress to prevent it from being loosened. Comforters or anything soft such as pillows, quilts or cushions should not be in the crib when baby is sleeping, as it could cause suffocation.

You will be spending long hours in the nursery, and your memories of baby will include the nursery and it’s contents. Cute bedding, a pleasant color scheme and a beautiful crib with baby sleeping within will be remembered and cherished for the rest of your life.
